The purpose of the KQHA Horseback Riding (HBR) Program is to promote and reward KQHA members for enjoying their American Quarter Horses, and other breeds, outside of the competitive show arena. This is not a competitive program; however, awards will be given to those who accumulate the greatest number of hours in the saddle throughout the year. In addition, “lifetime achievement” recognition will be given to participants who reach benchmark hours. There will be two separate divisions: Adult (19 and over) and Youth (18 and under). Both divisions will be open for logging hours on any breed of equine. See the forms below to learn more and enroll today!
HBR participants must be members of KQHA and pay a $15 HBR fee to be eligible for year-end awards.
Using the hourly log sheet, record the hours you enjoy your horse when riding, driving or training. Grooming, feeding & veterinary care do not count for hours.
The top three adults and top three youth submitting the highest total hours will earn year-end awards.
